Trading in your current vehicle for a New or Used Tesla?

Thinking about Trading in your current vehicle for a new or used Tesla?

Can you trade your vehicle in with us and purchase a Tesla? Absolutely.

It’s seems crazy to us but one of the most frequent questions our team is asked is, “can you trade your current vehicle on a Tesla?” The answer is yes but there’s a lot more to it than that. You see, Tesla views your trade as little more than an obstacle in their mission to electrify the motoring public all over the world. At Company of Cars we view your trade as an asset that allows you to unlock equity and access significant tax savings. We want your trade in vehicle, so whether you’re buying a used or previously owned Tesla from us, or, want us to help you negotiate a Tesla purchase, lease or finance direct from Tesla themselves —

yes, yes we’ll take in your trade on a  Tesla!

If you’ve visited your local Tesla showroom and inquired about trading in your current vehicle and upgrading to something in Tesla’s lineup, you may not have liked the trade-in value they presented. It makes sense of course. Tesla isn’t interested in your used vehicle. Tesla is a technology company that happens to sell state of the art ground breaking vehicles. They aren’t in the used car business and they don’t want to be. That’s where we can step in and help. In most cases you will receive a tax savings of anywhere from 12% to 25% of your trade’s value depending on which model you order!

Tesla Model S

Just like Tesla, we accept all makes and models of cars, trucks, vans and SUVs for trade-in towards the purchase of a Tesla. The difference between us and Tesla is that we actually want your trade! Our completely transparent process is straightforward and easy to follow and will leave you in no doubt that you are receiving top dollar for your trade. We don’t rely on antiquated valuation tools like Canadian Black Book or Kelly Blue Book for a valuation. We use cutting edge data aggregations tools and access wholesale auction data to produce true retail sold data for vehicles just like yours to help us assess value. Here’s an example:

To get a trade-in value before ordering your Tesla, you can either bring your trade to us to have it evaluated or, if it’s more convenient, you can make arrangements to have one of vehicle valuation experts come to you to assess the vehicle in person.

Tesla Model 3

Once you have determined which model of Tesla you would like to order we have one of our Vehicle Valuation Experts assess your trade. They will generate a CarFax vehicle history report and go over your trade in vehicle’s history with you. They will also go through the vehicle to highlight any deficiencies or defects that might affect value. Once we agree on a valuation it’s simple, we just go right ahead and order your car online through Tesla.

In most cases trade in values are guaranteed for 45 days and up to 2000 kms. For certain scenarios where a transaction may take longer to complete we may give a range of values.
